Actuarial Valuation and Review: An in-depth actuarial analysis of the pension fund. It compares SBCERA’s existing funds and contribution levels against the total cost of current and future promised benefits (i.e. assets vs. liabilities). It is conducted each fiscal year and presented to the Board of Retirement in November.
Agendas & Minutes: Agendas are posted at least 72 hours prior to an upcoming meeting. Minutes are posted upon approval at the next regular Board or Committee meeting.
Awards and Recognition: SBCERA is an award-winning, defined benefit plan. The plan has received recognition for its success in all areas of the organization including investments, fiscal and communications.
By-Laws: Key procedures and regulations of the Board of Retirement (BOR) including several administrative matters relating to actions and decisions by the BOR.
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report: A valuable resource for current and historical financial and demographic SBCERA data. Prepared on a fiscal year basis, it is typically posted by the end of the calendar year.
Quarterly Investment Report – Prepared by SBCERA pension consultant. Content is updated approximately five to six weeks after the close of the last quarter following Board review.
Snapshot – Key data about the SBCERA plan, finances and membership as of the end of the last fiscal year. Data is compiled from previously approved and audited materials.
