Three seats on the SBCERA Board of Retirement will be open for election later this year.

On December 2, 2025, an election will be held for the San Bernardino County Employees’ Retirement Association (SBCERA).  In this election, the following officers will be elected:

• General Member Trustee – Elected from Active Members
• Retired Member Trustee – Elected from Retired Members
• Alternate Retired Member Trustee – Elected from Retired Members

Election Process

Eligible voters can vote by mail or online—a convenient and secure option.

On November 4, 2025, ballots will be mailed to every SBCERA member eligible to vote in the election at their registered address. Eligible voters in this election include General members and Retired members.

Members with a valid email address on file with SBCERA will also receive ballots and election materials via email.

The election will be administered by MK Election Services, an independent third-party election services firm with over a decade of experience in providing election administration services to public sector entities. The distribution and handling of ballots will be done solely by MK Election Services.

Electronic and mail-in ballots must be received by 5 p.m. on December 2, 2025.

Email Verification for Members

Members should verify or update the email address they have on file with SBCERA to ensure they receive SBCERA Board of Retirement election materials electronically and can cast their ballot online.

1. Login into mySBCERA and select My Account located on the top right-hand side of your screen
2. Select Account Settings
3. Navigate to Email to verify or update your address
4. Click Update

Candidate Submissions

SBCERA will publish Candidacy materials and procedural information on its website at www.SBCERA.org/Elections on August 11. Candidate submissions will be accepted until 5 p.m. on September 5. All candidate forms must be submitted electronically. The official candidate list will be posted on the SBCERA election website on September 12.
