Matthew Erickson serves as Chief Management Officer for San Bernardino County, providing executive leadership across the County’s administrative and internal service operations. In this role, he helps guide the organization’s financial, strategic, and operational priorities, with a focus on long-term sustainability and effective delivery of public services.

Matthew has 21 years of service with San Bernardino County, all within the County Administrative Office, including eight years as the County’s Chief Financial Officer. He continues to oversee the County’s Chief Financial Officer and remains closely involved in financial management, budget development, long-range financial forecasting, and annual strategic planning. His work reflects a career dedicated to responsible stewardship of public resources and thoughtful planning for the County’s future.

Matthew holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of La Verne and a master’s degree in Political Science from Claremont Graduate University.

A lifelong resident of San Bernardino County, Matthew grew up in Ontario and now lives in Rancho Cucamonga with his wife, Cassie, and their children, Bobby and Grace.
