Marc Bracco

Meet Marc Bracco, SBCERA Trustee and Lieutenant with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Public service has been part of Marc’s life for as long as he can remember. Raised by a father who spent more than 31 years in law enforcement and a mother who dedicated more than 25 years to education, Marc grew up understanding the importance of serving others and giving back to his community.

“I love this profession of law enforcement. It drives me every day knowing that I can give back to my community, and it’s something I get to teach my kids – the importance of being a valued member of the community.”

That commitment to service has shaped some of the most meaningful moments of Marc’s career. During his rookie year, he responded to a call involving an 8-month-old baby who was not breathing. Arriving before the fire department, Marc administered CPR and helped save the child’s life – a moment he still considers one of the best days of his career.

Marc brings that same sense of responsibility to his role as an SBCERA Trustee. After serving three years as Chair of the Board of Retirement, he has seen firsthand the care SBCERA’s trustees and staff put into serving more than 52,000 members and safeguarding their retirement benefits.

“We all care, and heart is put into this day in and day out. Everyone goes the extra mile to make sure we’re taking care of our members, and that’s what makes SBCERA great.”

For Marc, serving on the Board is another way to support the public servants who dedicate their careers to San Bernardino County and help ensure they can rely on their retirement benefits for years to come.
