Three seats on the SBCERA Board of Retirement will be open for election later this year. Candidacy information will be available August 16, 2021, and the candidate filing period ends on September 10, 2021.

Notice is hereby given that on December 7, 2021, an election will be held for the San Bernardino County Employees’ Retirement Association (SBCERA) to elect members to the Board of Retirement. In this election, the following officers will be elected:

  • General Member Trustee: One General Member is to be elected to the SBCERA Board of Retirement by Active and Deferred General Members of the Retirement Association. The term of office shall be a full term of three years and shall commence January 1, 2022.
  • Safety Member Trustee: One Safety Member to be elected to the SBCERA Board of Retirement by Active and Deferred Safety Members of the Retirement Association. The term of office shall be a full term of three years and shall commence January 1, 2022.
  • Alternate Safety Member Trustee: One Alternate Safety Member to be elected to the SBCERA Board of Retirement by Active and Deferred Safety Members of the Retirement Association. The term of office shall be a full term of three years and shall commence January 1, 2022.

All Board of Retirement elections are conducted by the Registrar of Voters (ROV) under the Mail Ballot procedure and in accordance with the Uniform District Election Law (UDEL). Candidate filings will be accepted at the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters, 777 E. Rialto Avenue, San Bernardino, CA, from August 16, 2021, until 5:00 p.m. on September 10, 2021.
