SBCERA, in partnership with California’s
Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP, is
hosting a free educational workshop to help retirees
navigate Medicare options during open enrollment.
Join us on Monday, October 19,
2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00
a.m., either in person at the SBCERA office or virtually
via Zoom.
HICAP counselors will provide information related
to Medicare rights and benefits such Medicare
supplemental insurance (Medigap policies), Medicare Advantage
plans, long-term care insurance, and appealing denials of
coverage.
Please Note: This workshop is offered as an
educational resource to help you better understand Medicare and
the resources available to you.
SBCERA does not administer retiree health
benefits.
2027 Medicare Rates: The HICAP representative
will not be able to provide 2027 Medicare rates
during this workshop, as those rates are not expected to be
released until November.
