Lance Kjeldgaard

Since 1993, Mr. Kjeldgaard has served as Chief Counsel SBCERA. Prior to his appointment to the position, Mr. Kjeldgaard was a deputy county counsel with the San Bernardino County Counsel’s Office.

He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy. Mr. Kjeldgaard was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force and became a B-52 pilot. He holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. While at Syracuse University College of Law he was a Law Review editor and a magna cum laude graduate.

Licensed to practice law in New York and California, Mr. Kjeldgaard is member and frequent speaker in the National Association of Public Pension Plan Attorneys, the California Public Retirement Systems and the California State Association of County Retirement Systems. He has also written several articles on pension law for the California Public Retirement Journal.
