Julie Underwood has served as Chief of Fiscal Services since 2010. She is responsible for the financial reporting and custody of SBCERA’s approximately $6 billion in accounting operations; collection of retirement contributions and disbursement of benefits; tax, trust and treasury functions; and all related auditing tasks. Ms. Underwood spearheads the development and implementation of SBCERA accounting procedures and controls.

Previously, Ms. Underwood held various and progressively responsible accounting and tax positions with the Superior Court of California and public accounting firms including Ernst & Young.

Ms. Underwood earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, San Bernardino. She is also licensed by the State of California as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Ms. Underwood holds membership in the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the Inland Empire chapter of the Association of Governmental Accountants (AGA) and the Public Pension Financial Forum (P2F2).
