The San Bernardino County Courthouse was built in 1926 and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.


Christie L. Porter

Ms. Porter has served as the Chief of Member Services for the San Bernardino County Employees’ Retirement Association (SBCERA) since March 2004.  She is responsible for overseeing benefit services and communications functions for an active and retired membership of over 30,000 employees in California’s largest geographic county. 

Previously, she was a Business Analyst for Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc. and provided support to a variety of clients engaged in pension software application design and development decisions.  Ms. Porter also spent 4 ½ years with Orange County Employees’ Retirement System (OCERS) in progressively responsible positions, directing a staff of 10 Retirement Program Specialists and Benefits Technicians.

Ms. Porter has a strong belief in continuing professional education.  Ms. Porter earned a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Porter has also achieved her Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, as well as earning a certificate in Project Management from UC Riverside. 

She also holds a BA in Human Resources Management from CSU Fullerton, as well as a Certificate of Achievement in Public Plan Policy (CAPPP) from IFEBP.  Her professional expertise is currently shared with the San Bernardino County Employees’ Benefit Advisory Committee, the SACRS Education Committee and the SACRS Nominating Committee.

Ms. Porter lives with her husband, Mike, and their teenage daughter in Yucaipa. She spends her free time with family and enjoys RVing.
